The Progress of My Vines

I'll start out with the ones that look the best right now. This wall of sweetpeas is my pride and joy right now.

It might be hard to see, but there's a Mexican Flame vine growing in the midst of all the leaves you see here at the base of the iris.

Here's a Carolina Jessamine that I just planted this fall. I'm expecting great things out of it starting with next year.

This is a coral honeysuckle growing at the base of my mailbox. Hopefully it will cover the mailbox and be a favorite place for hummingbird gatherings. I just planted it last fall too.

This last is a Confederate jasmine that I also planted last fall. (You can tell this past fall was a busy one for me!) I'm wanting it to cover a large portion of my front chainlink fence and fill the yard with fragrance.

All of these vines come heartily recommended for Southern climes. Please help me in my crusade to cover all ugly fences with delectable vines!

Your sweet peas are gorgeous. Are they really fragrant. Someone gave me some SP seeds which I planted in the fall. They are multi pink purple and quite fragrant. I think it has been a good year for peas this year because I have had pounds of sugar snaps.
Don't worry that Carolina jessamine and Confederate jasmine will not disappoint you.

I'm sure it's going to be lovely. Especially the smell! I love Jasmine, but lost mine a couple years ago- I should replace it :)

Yes, these sweetpeas are VERY fragrant. The sweet smell can be detected from 20 feet away on a still day.

Very few intentional vines here -- there are too many invasives already growing. Confederate jasmine is rampant, as is Virginia creeper, Smilax and a host of others just waiting to wrap themselves around the entire garden. Carolina jessamine festoons itself in the woods.

I even skipped sweetpeas this year. Yours are wonderful.

your vines are beautiful, and this is a GREAT blog!

I also have a chain-link fence to contend with. you are certainly winning the battle with yours. I'm inspired!
