I needed a place to put all my gardening notes. Thought it would be fun for other people to see my input on various items of interest. I'm particularly fond of roses, fragrants, and flowering vines. Hope you enjoy.

Torenia
Do you like pansies? Well, here's a "pansy" for the summer. It's a Torenia. They grow in partial shade very well and are a wonderful potted plant. They thrive in the heat and bloom till frost. It's not a very big plant, so you need to plant them in a large group if you want them as bedding plants. Mine stay in profuse bloom continually. I think their best use is as a filler in a pot with other plants.

I've planted the trailing torenia this year, and if I have the same results as my sister did last year, they should grow almost three feet across. Hers were so lush and thick, and I am hoping for the same in my garden. You are so right about torenia being a great summer plant.
